TRUMPF TruLaser Tube 7000 — 3D miters and copes in a single setup

01 · The Machine

The TRUMPF Tube Laser is a fiber 3D tube cutter that handles round, square, and rectangular profiles in mild steel, stainless, aluminum, and galvanized stock. Where a traditional shop saws, drills, and miters a tube assembly through five separate operations, the Tube Laser does the work in one setup with weld-ready edges that need no deburring.

02 · Why It's Here

We chose the Tube Laser to take the bottleneck out of tube fabrication. The conventional workflow runs parts through a chop saw, a drill press, and a manual miter — each step adding setup time and tolerance stack. The fiber laser's 3D head cuts copes, miters, holes, and end profiles in a single program. A handrail assembly that takes three days through conventional tube work ships from us in one.

03 · How It Runs

Most tube work runs on this machine for jobs that ship as weldments — handrails, conveyor frames, automotive subframes, equipment skids. Tubes come off the laser ready to weld; the next person who touches them is in the welding cell, not the deburring station.

Common Questions

About the TRUMPF Tube Laser.

The questions procurement and engineering teams ask before they spec a job to this machine.

Talk to a Fabricator

Round, square, and rectangular tube up to a 4″ × 4″ profile envelope, with wall thickness up to 0.250″ on mild steel and aluminum. Larger or thicker profiles can usually be split into sections and welded — we'll tell you up front if your job needs that.

A saw cuts at one angle. A drill press makes one hole at a time. A typical tube assembly with mitered ends, coped joints, and bolt patterns runs through 4-5 setups on conventional equipment. The Tube Laser does all of it in one program — the part goes in raw, comes out weld-ready, and the tolerance stack is one machine instead of five.

Yes — the 3D head rotates around the tube as it feeds, so a coped joint at one end and a 45° miter at the other come off the same setup. For weldments with multiple joint geometries (handrails, conveyor frames, trailer subframes) this is the entire reason the machine exists.

Mild steel (round / square / rectangular), stainless steel 304 / 316, aluminum 6061 / 6063, galvanized steel, and pre-painted tube. Specialty alloys (Inconel, titanium tube) on request — we'll quote with material lead time included.

Yes — that's the design intent. Edges are burr-free and oxide-light enough that most weldments don't need deburring or grinding before welding. We do a first-article check on every new part to confirm fit-up.

Most cut-only tube jobs ship in 5-7 working days. Cut-and-weld assemblies typically ship in 7-14 days depending on weldment complexity. Same-day quote on the cutting program once we have the CAD.

Yes — most tube laser cutting work goes to OEM customers in Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto, Vaughan, and Oakville, with shipping across Ontario for production runs. Free GTA pickup at our Brampton shop. Most weld-ready tube assemblies ship in 5-7 working days.
