01 · The Machine

The TRUMPF Trumatic L3050 anchors our cutting capacity. A 5000W CO₂ flying-optic laser with a 60" × 120" bed, it cuts mild steel up to 1", stainless up to .75", and aluminum up to .5" — the range that covers HVAC plenums, automotive brackets, architectural panels, and heavy-equipment frames.

02 · Why It's Here

We chose the L3050 for what it does to your part. CO₂ lasers cut a cleaner, oxide-free edge on stainless and aluminum than fiber lasers in this thickness range — most jobs skip the deburring step entirely. The kerf is narrow enough to nest tight on the sheet, so material yield stays high through production runs.

03 · How It Runs

Most parts ship within 5 working days. Same-day quotes go out by 5 PM if your CAD file arrives by 2 PM. Tight-tolerance jobs (±0.005") get first-article inspection at the laser before they ship.

Common Questions

About the TRUMPF Trumatic L3050.

The questions procurement and engineering teams ask before they spec a job to this machine.

Talk to a Fabricator

Mild steel up to 1.00″, stainless steel up to 0.75″, aluminum up to 0.50″. Galvanized steel and pre-painted stock cut up to 0.25″ without finish damage. For jobs at the upper end of these ranges we'll usually do a first-article cut and verify edge quality before running the full production lot.

CO₂ holds a cleaner oxide-free edge on stainless and aluminum in our thickness range than fiber lasers in the same power class. The deburring step disappears on most jobs, which saves you on secondary finishing and gets parts to spec faster. Fiber wins on speed at thinner gauges (under 1/8″ mild steel); we use the L3050 for the mid-thickness work where edge quality matters more than feed rate.

±0.005″ is the best repeatable tolerance on the L3050, verified at first article and with material certs in hand. Most production work runs ±0.010″ to ±0.015″ depending on material thickness and part complexity. For tighter-than-±0.005″ work we'll route to the press brake or mill for secondary finishing — we'll tell you up front if your spec needs that.

Mild steel (A36, hot/cold rolled), stainless 304 / 316, aluminum 6061 / 5052, galvanized steel, brass, copper, spring steel, and pre-painted steel. Specialty alloys (Inconel, titanium, etc.) on request — we'll quote with the material lead time included. We can source the material for you or cut from your supplied stock, your call.

60″ × 120″ — a full 5 ft × 10 ft sheet. The bed handles the full range of common stock sheet sizes. For oversized parts that exceed the bed envelope we can plan a tile-and-weld assembly, or we'll tell you the part needs to go to a larger-bed shop.

Yes — same machine, different feed rates and assist gas profiles. Permanent serial numbers, logos, barcodes, and decorative engravings on stainless, aluminum, and mild steel. We use the engraving capability on most production runs to mark part numbers and date codes per your traceability requirements.

Yes — we welcome customers to visit our Brampton shop on Bramsteele Road and see the TRUMPF Trumatic L3050 running. Production work happens Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Call ahead so we can have a current job on the bed for you to see and a fabricator available to walk through the workflow.
